We are the proud digital studio for the BBC Children in Need team, and in 2019 we completely reimagined and rebuilt the existing underperforming, non-responsive web platform.
The aim was to create a fully content managed, fresh and engaging website for Children in Need that utilised 3rd party donating functionality, including consolidation of multiple URL’s of content to provide a single destination for all users.
As part of our strategy and planning exercise we undertook a full audit of the existing site, followed by a series of discovery workshops that involved all of the key teams at BBC Children in Need.
We subsequently created a component-based Design System for future-proofing new campaign themes with minimum updating. This new system is fully adaptable to cater for future Children in Need campaigns and appeal nights.
The new single destination website is now focused on users’ needs allowing them to easily navigate to the relevant content with clear signposting and calls to action. This has resulted in a fully content managed and responsive web platform which has been a big success seeing a huge increase in traffic from the previous site – all of which is fully trackable.
